Norris Lake is a man-made reservoir in the Appalachian Mountains of northeastern Tennessee, created by the completion of Norris Dam on the Clinch River in 1936. The lake is approximately 33 miles (53 km) long at full pool of 1,860 feet (567 m) above mean sea level and has 809 miles (1,300 km) of shoreline. It is named after Nebraska Senator George Norris.
